Privacy Policy

Akhirati: Muslim Companion is a mobile app developed by Genaxa ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we handle your information. In short: Akhirati contains no advertising, requires no account or login, and keeps your data on your device.

Information We Collect

Akhirati does not require account creation, login, or registration. We do not directly collect personal information such as your name, email, or phone number. Third-party services (Firebase) may collect certain device and usage data as described below.

Location

With your permission, Akhirati uses your device's precise location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. That calculation happens entirely on your device — your precise location is never sent to us, stored on any server, or shared. You may deny location permission and instead choose your city manually; the app then works fully offline using a bundled city list.

Separately, and unrelated to prayer times: like most apps, Akhirati uses Google Firebase for anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting. Because every internet request carries an IP address, Firebase derives an approximate location from it — country, region or city level only. This is why our Google Play Data safety card lists “Approximate location”. It is never used to calculate prayer times, is never linked to your identity, and it cannot reveal your precise location.

Locally Stored Data

Your settings, prayer log, khatmah progress, athkar progress, tasbih counts and preferences are stored locally on your device (Android SharedPreferences and a local Room database). This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Advertising

Akhirati contains no advertising. We do not use AdMob or any ad network, and the app requests no advertising identifier (AD_ID) permission.

Optional Support (In-App Purchase)

Akhirati is free. You may optionally support its development with a one-time contribution ("Akhirati Plus"). In-app purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not collect or store payment information. All billing is handled by Google as described in Google Payments Privacy Notice.

Notifications

Akhirati schedules local notifications and alarms on your device to alert you at prayer times and for reminders you enable (such as a daily verse or dhikr). These are generated on your device; no notification data is sent to us.

Accessibility Service

Akhirati includes an optional, parent-activated "Kids Mode". When a parent turns it on, an Android Accessibility Service is used only while the prayer lock is active, to keep a full-screen prayer reminder in view until the child confirms they have prayed (a parent PIN can dismiss it at any time). This service:

  • reads only which app is currently in the foreground (the package name) — it can never read screen contents, what you type, or any personal data;
  • transmits nothing; no data leaves the device;
  • is fully opt-in, enabled manually by a parent in system Settings behind a PIN, with clear in-app disclosure beforehand;
  • always allows the phone dialer so emergency calls are never blocked, and auto-releases after 45 minutes as a safety cap.

Children's Privacy

Akhirati is a general-audience worship app and is not directed at children under 13 for the purpose of data collection. Kids Mode is a tool for <strong>parents</strong> to help their children with prayer, and collects no data. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand , in aggregate, how the app is used and Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix crashes. These services collect device information, app usage data, and crash logs. No personally identifiable information is collected. See Firebase Privacy.

Data Deletion

Because Akhirati stores your data on your device, uninstalling the app removes it. To request deletion of any diagnostic data associated with your device's Firebase installation identifier, contact us at the email below.

Third-Party Services

Akhirati does not use any advertising SDK.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top.
